Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.”Exodus 3:13-15
Lord, You called Yourself Yahweh, I AM. You are now, You always were, and You always will be. I, in stark contrast, am not.
I was not, until You created me. Like a blade of grass, I am here only for a short time, and because You sustain my very breath. And I will be only because of Your merciful Will, the sacrifice of Your Son, and the sustaining grace of Your Spirit.
You are forever, complete. Father, Son and Spirit. Alpha and Omega. Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer.
Whatever goes on in this world, it is not a surprise to You. You are in control of it all, working it all together for good.
Praise to You, Lord, Who are the only one who truly exists, self-sustaining and permanent. All creation rightly gives You praise, Jehovah God, the Great I AM. May all creation praise You.
